Brooding On

Finally! Honey's Baby Has Arrived!

Last year, Honey had her baby while I was gone on a Wal-Mart run.  I'd been watching her like a hawk, but it seemed she just wanted some privacy.  This year, once I realized she was bagging up, I went to Wal-Mart (twice) and even left town for a couple days.  But that didn't get things going. I guess she was waiting on me to write yesterday's blog post

. . .  because today, while I was gone to pick the kids up from school, she gave birth to this guy.  I mean, is he cute, or what?  We arrived home in time to see Honey still cleaning him off and witness his first feeding (it took him a few tries to find the right spot).

Okay, seriously.  Is the above photo not the sweetest one you've ever seen?  Notice Momma's snout giving baby a kiss.

He's not yet named, though the kids have several ideas.  I had to remind them that names like "Cuddles" and "Lovey" would be great today, but may not seem fitting when he's a 180-pound buck.

To say that we are excited would be quite the understatement.  :)

If anyone would like to see our adorable goat baby, feel free to stop by on Saturday.  We will be having an "Open Farm."  Stop by.  See the precious goat.  We'll be so happy to see you!
