Brooding On

Christmas, People!

It's been a WEEK since I blogged last. I have very little excuse for this except for the same excuse I assume all of us can use for anything that didn't get done last week:  Christmas, people!  It's a wonderful and insanely crazy time that takes us away from the farm more than normal, and away from my computer where all the blogging happens.  As I'm sure is the case with many of you, Christmas is not just a day for us: it's a season.  In fact, we're still going, as we will gather with the rest of the Beller crew this coming weekend.

These are our silly faces, and, Justin, I don't want to hear another word about it.

We were busy, busy -- and loving every minute of it.

Thankfully, Santa was able to procure the elusive "laser snake" that Elijah had never seen or heard of but thought would be really cool and had been asking for since before his birthday in April.  I'm really glad Santa came through on that one.

The kids enjoyed lots of cousin time at Nana and Ops' house, and I got to love on the adorable chunky monkey pictured above.  A big special thanks go out to Vaughanda, Jessica, and Adam for taking care of things here at the farm so that we could travel to spend a few days with family.  You guys are the best, and we are so thankful for friends like you!

John and I enjoyed a night out, courtesy of the kids.  It was their Christmas gift to us.  They even conspired with our favorite sitter to be sure that childcare was covered.  So sneaky, those kiddos of ours!

And, either the goats are experiencing some severe pasture bloat or they're beginning to show a bit.  This was taken of Razz today.  Pretty wide, huh?  We are counting down the days until the first babies make their big entrance at the end of February!

Anyway,  Merry Christmas from those of us here at Brood Farm!
