Brooding On

Mo and his Amazing Fro

Remember Mo?  He is our most recent addition to the goat herd.  We purchased him (from Missouri -- thus his name) in late spring, hoping that he would be a suitable mate for Razz this fall.  I was concerned that he might not grow large enough to breed her successfully this year.  However, he's grown pretty rapidly and is in full rut.   He and Razz have been penned together for a few weeks now, and I'd say things are looking good.

And, just in time to impress the ladies, he's sporting this new hairdo.  See the little pouf atop his head?  I've begun calling him Fro Mo.  He's even got a few highlights in it -- so trendy!  Yep-- he's the boy-band, rolled-skinny-jeans goat in the herd.

"Oh!  You've got the camera out? Would you like a side view, too?"  :)

So far, I'm loving this fella's temperament.  He is pretty calm.  His voice is not too loud.  And, he seems to enjoy Razz's company without having to be all over her all the time.  The two of them seem to get along really well.

We are using Oreo again as our buck for Nutmeg and Honey.  Here's hoping for more spotted babies out of those pairings!
