Brooding On

Farm Updates

We are about 3 weeks out now from our expected moving date.  While there's still a lot to do before we all (humans and animals) make the big move, we've definitely made great strides in the last couple of weeks.

John has been hard at work on goat fencing.

The mobile home has been underpinned.  Snatching time wherever I could, I managed to get the entire interior of the mobile home painted over the past couple of weeks.

No, I wasn't having a seance in this dark bathroom.  We still have no electricity, remember?  So, in this darkly-painted bathroom with no windows, I had a light in my left hand and a paintbrush in my right!  I probably won't fully know what a bad job I did until the electricity comes on.

And, Entergy has arrived!  While they still have some work to do, we are hoping that we'll have electricity by the week's end.

In fact, we're hoping that this week we'll complete most of the fencing that John is doing himself, finish out the kids' playhouse with walls, flooring, and a window a/c unit, have electricity and internet, have the barn sink installed, and have the new flooring in the mobile home.  Whew!!!  Sounds like a busy week!  It's hard to believe we are so close to being able to wake up every morning at the farm.  We are SO looking forward to it!
