Brooding On

We Are Not Alone

We've enjoyed sledding at the farm over the past couple of days.  And, it's easy when you're out there hiking around in the snow to feel like you're alone out in the beautiful, snow-covered wilderness.  Easy to believe, that is, until you look down.  Because the snow was riddled with tracks -- tracks of all kinds, heading in all directions!  Of course there were deer; we'd seen deer on our hike.  But, there were also what our field guide suggests are coyote.  We knew they had to be out there, since we'd often heard their howling at night, but it was somehow different seeing their tracks in the snow.
